DS Lite Scrapped

After Sony abandoned PSP Go, it's time for Nintendo to abandon one of its consoles! DS Lite, the good old 5 year old model is discontinued, according to Gamestop's internal memo.

It's actually about time they discontinue the DS Lite, since it already has quite a number of successors ( DSi, DSi XL, and 3DS).

Though it's still kind of sad to see the good-old DS discontinued, especially since the DS lite has been with me for quite a long time, and been through a lot of situation with me.

I'm quite sure a lot of people still have DS as their primary handheld console. There's been a lot of epic games released on the DS, Professor Layton, Phoenix Wright, Dragon Quest, etc.

With the discontinuation of DS Lite, this marks the end of handheld with GBA-slots, which may mean that Nintendo might open an online store for GBA games downloads for the 3DS.
