Another Update on Japan's Tsunami

Well, been a day after the tsunami, and quite a lot of interesting new facts and comments are made everywhere!


First, NOAA made a computer model of the impact of the tsunami worldwide, which can be seen above. the NOAA Center for tsunami research

Second, the earthquake that created the mighty tsunami was not 8.X, but it was 9.0, full news at NewScientist

Third, the moon does not actually have anything to do whatsoever with this gigantic earthquake. More on discovermagazine

Fourth, Japan hasn't asked for any help. For those of you that donates to charity organizations saying it's for Japan, your donation probably hasn't reached Japan. Worry not, even if your donation isn't used for Japan, there's a possibility it can be used for another matter that's important too. If you ask, "Why are they asking donations now, and not after Japan asked for help?", well it's because people actually feels empathic when they see footage and videos everywhere about Japan's tsunami, that they actually want to donate. Wait a couple of weeks / months when Japan really needs help, and people probably won't feel as empathic and giving as the disaster won't be "news" anymore at that time.

Those are 4 facts that popped out today! And now, to see the worse part of this post. People actually made a lot of comments saying that this earthquake is God's payback to Japan from Pearl Harbour. No, I'm not joking, quite a number of US citizens made statements along that line. Seriously US? You bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki with your bomb. 2 towns. Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. And you're saying Japan got divine retribution for that?
