NGP Officially Named Playstation Vita

At E3, Sony unveiled that the NGP will be named Playstation Vita, and the handheld will pack AT&T-exclusive 3G. The Vita has 2 version, the 3G, and the Wi-fi ( iPad much? ). And they cost quite a hefty sum too! $US/EU299 for 3G, or $US/EU249 for Wi-Fi only. Though it is still under Nintendo's 3DS's price.

The Vita's features will include with front and rear cameras , twin joysticks , a touchscreen , Sixaxis-style accelerometer control and a rear-mounted touchpad. While Sony promise a simple pipeline for porting PS3 titles down to the handheld, the company have opted not to release a fully PS3-spec console that, in their words, would “last five minutes [and] probably set fire to your pants.”
