PSN Asia Is Back

PSN Asia is Back! With some of the news pertaining to the Welcome Back Program for Asians. Although the PSN is not fully operational, some of the features are already online as of now.

The Welcome back program for Asia contains:
Game Contents:
Existing members can enjoy free download of a total of four game titles, including two games for PlayStation®3 and PSP® respectively from the following titles.

PS3™:
  1. The Last Guy (Chinese/English Version)
  2. Come on, LocoRoco!! BuuBuu Cocoreccho (Chinese/English Version)
  3. Trashbox (Chinese/English Version)
  4. Hustle King (English Version)
  5. WipEout ®HD Bundle (English Version)
PSP®:
  1. Everybody's Stress Buster (Chinese/English Version)
  2. LittleBigPlanet™ (Chinese/English Version)
  3. LocoRoco™ -Midnight Carnival- (Chinese/English Version)
  4. Modnation™ Racer PSP® (Chinese/English Version)

Custom Theme
Existing members can enjoy free download of Dokodemo Issyo Spring Theme for the PS3.

Subscription Services:

PlayStation®Plus
All existing PlayStation®Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation®Plus premium service, available through PlayStation®Store. Current members of PlayStation®Plus will receive 30 days plus 1 day for each day of the outage of free service (automatic extension, details will be announced in due course.).

PlayStation®Home
A special offer will be available for ALL PlayStation®Home users (regardless of account registration date). Details will be announced in due course.

And the features that are now online are:
  1. Sign-in to PlayStation®Network and change of password
  2. Online game functions on PlayStation®3 and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable)
  3. Account Management
  4. Ad Hoc Party for PlayStation®Portable *2
  5. PlayStation®Home *2
  6. Functions in “Friends”category including Friend List, Chat Functions, Trophy etc. *2

As with all PSN in other regions, all users that register prior to April 21, 2011 have to change their passwords. The details can be seen here

Special for Japanese, there are identity protection program, which consists of:
  • In addition to the existing customer service call center, SCE has established a phone hotline to offer customer guidance on the restoration of services, or measures to protect themselves against identity theft and fraud. (operating hours: 9am to 7pm)
  • With the support from credit card companies, SCE will bear the expenses to reissue new credit cards to those customers who request to replace their existing credit cards when it involves charges.

And Asia doesn't have any Qriocity Services. PS Store is also not recovered yet. Well, at least a lot have been recovered! Time to log on and update everything!
